MIDDLEBURG – Men seen leaving a house suspected of selling drugs were stopped on April 10 and arrested for trafficking and possession of fentanyl.
Clay County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Ory alerted deputies of the likely presence of illegal narcotics during an exterior sniff search of a car being driven by Nicholas Adam Lee, 40, of Jacksonville.
Deputies didn’t find anything on Lee during an initial search, but they found a plastic baggie containing $289.90 in cash and cocaine in the underwear of passenger Scott Alan Brooks, 51, of Jacksonville.
Lee was charged with trafficking fentanyl, possession of cocaine, Buprenorphine and drug paraphernalia, while Brooks was charged with trafficking cocaine and fentanyl. According to the arrest report, deputies then found fentanyl and crack cocaine in Lee’s wallet. They also found glass bulbs with burnt residue that tested positive for fentanyl.
Brooks’ bond was $500,003, while Lee’s was $405,011.
