There should be a healthy discussion at the public hearing tomorrow night in Green Cove Springs at 7pm for the annexation of the Reynolds property. Questions should be asked about why the City wants to bring this site into the City limits and then develop a residential devlopment on this property. Reynolds aka Clay County Port or better known as Lee Field an abandon military site is also a FUD site. Look that up !! This property is full of contamination from military activities that date back to the 40s. There should be an in depth investigation into this property and a full disclosure as to it's known and unknown contamination and why there seems to be such a desire for the City to be involved with this property. This site being brought into the City's limits may very well burden the tax payers with this property and it's clean-up. Any property tax advantage may very well vaporize in the very fumes emitting from this site. Let's ask the questions now and get some real answers and stop the hidden adgendas.

It's been quite a while since this story broke, but I think obama and his thugs successfully thwarted the office renovations. YEAH
..... of course, there are several hundred families whose bread winners aren't working now because of it. In response to: Shocking and disturbing

This "magic negro" title was given to obama by a colunist from the LA times as a positive term meaning that he had what it takes to win! Stop being " offended" over everything! I'm hoping the only magic obama does is a disappearing act!

You shouldn't be so surprised; after all, if we are to believe what was reported recently, darling-of-the-liberal-set Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg voted in one case to lower the age of consent by females to 12 years of age. And this is the same "conservative" court who overturned the precedent that "public use" in cases of eminent domain now includes turning land over to developers to make a profit. Bob, I hope you will write about the Courts ruling in favor of two of the CTLAC amendments. It would appear to me that last weeks attempt to capture the Board of Commissioners by the at-large candidates should be rebuked.
The people have spoken paying for 5 commissioners is all we need on the plate especially with the benefits those who have served before retain. The people have spoken also on what a part-time position is worth as well. I would caution those who would seek the peoples votes for an increase in the future take notice and do the job for the people first not those who exhorbitantly financed the campaigns. Corporate welfare has gone on long enough and for far to long! Just imagine what 700 billion in the hands of tax payers would have done to salvage the economy and prevent foreclosures. We need to repeal the bail out and stop giviving hand outs to the public until all the damage is accessed. The automotive industry has ignored the obious for decades...retool and produce midsize and smaller fuel efficient automobiles. What happened to free markets and enterprise in this country. Or are we really that affraid to let somethig fail because of inept management stratigies?

I for one am saturated! The television commercial breaks will now shout about the best toys to buy for Christmas. At least they won't be telling us why Mattel is so much better than Parker Brothers or why we shouldn't believe Toys R Us! All the mud slinging WON'T be missed, I'll tell you!

From where I sit,
I thought I saw a blog about the charter amendments in this blog. I could not find it so I hope that my memory is correct. I thought that blog suggested that the SOE's office would not count the votes or release them for the charter amendments which are challenged in the Courts. The blog appeared to be biased against the CTLAC a non partisan group. The amendments were legally put on the ballot as the result of petitions signed by thousands of Clay County voters. The CTLAC circulated the petitions and they were signed and understood by those who read them. The SOE is required to count the ballots and report them as long as the Courts have not rendered a final ruling. Even if the Appellate Court were to rule an appeal to the Florida Supreme Court would stay that order and allow for the results of the votes to be published. Since Clay Today uses staff to generate their blogs instead of allowing the citizens to do it, when errors like what I recall occurred it sends a message of bias. Bias is something good news papers should never consider appropriate. Again I apologize for using this blog to make the point I just simply could not find the other one to comment on. So Residents of Clay County Vote YES and let them be counted. As I told the BCC even a 5th grader can read and understand them, too bad our judges can not. |
