ORANGE PARK – A 27-year-old Orange Park bicyclist was fatally injured Wednesday, Aug. 12, when he was struck by a motorcycle on Blanding Boulevard, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Anthony Christopher Coulter was declared dead at Orange Park Medical Center following the 10:27 a.m. wreck on Blanding Boulevard near Kingfisher Drive, the Highway Patrol said.

Coulter was southbound on the paved shoulder when he began to go across Blanding Boulevard from west to east and was struck by a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle driven by Temaus S. Wade Jr., 25, of Orange Park, the Highway Patrol said.

The report says Wade, who suffered serious injuries, was exceeding the posted speed limit as he traveled southbound and was changing to the left lane as he approached slower traffic when the accident happened, the report says.

Both drivers were ejected by the impact. Wade was taken to Shands Jacksonville for treatment, the report says.

I agree with Jerry. The local news stations very rarely report on stories out here.

As far as Jax news stations are concerned, Clay County doesn't even exist. I'm tired of not getting even a good weather report.

I couldnt agree with that clay news comment more. We need more people online reporting news south of Duval county! as far as this story... i am not anti bike or cycle... but some of the cyclist need to slow the F down! I know a lot of people that cycle... and I did for a while. It is entirely too dangerous on most roads. Rails to Trails was my best place to ride. My condolences to the families involved!
