ORANGE PARK -- CSX Transportation work crews will begin making emergency repairs Wednesday, Nov. 18, to the railroad crossing on Kingsley Avenue.

The work, which could continue through Saturday, Nov. 21, will result in some traffic lane closures and possibly one-lane traffic to allow the emergency repairs that include removing road surface panels to correct deficiencies in the rails themselves or possibly the roadbed, Town Manager John Bowles said.

Asphalt surface material will temporarily replace existing surface panels until the crossing is completely rebuilt in early January, Bowles said.

Motorists are urged to use caution in this construction zone and be prepared for short delays. The town was notified about the upcoming work by the state Department of Transportation, he said.
