Honoring the Eagle Scouts


ORANGE PARK – Their community service projects ranged from building shelving and different kinds of park benches, to building foot bridges in Jennings State Forest to painting fire hydrants and last Saturday night, they were thanked publicly as a group. On Feb. 3, the Black Creek District of the Boy Scouts of America honored and celebrated 33 young men who achieved Eagle Scout – Scouting’s highest rank – during 2017. The 36th Annual Eagle Scout dinner was held at Orange Park United Methodist Church’s Family Life Center and featured guest speaker, Saumil R. Oza, a Jacksonville cardiac electrophysiologist at St. Vincent’s Medical Center who achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 1994 in Clay County.
