Gayle Trigg Hoshour

The Grace Anglican Church community gave up to Jesus one of its cherished friends when Gayle Trigg Hoshour passed away quietly on April 23, 2016.

Gayle and her husband Richard moved to Orange Park in 1998 from East Greenwich, RI and quickly built a web of true friends in faith. Gayle was a Core Leader of Community Bible Study, served the mission of Grace House at Grace Episcopal in Orange Park, and was a sustaining volunteer with the Clothes Closet, a community organization providing clothing, food and household items for needy families and emergency help for payment of rent, utilities, medical and other special needs.

A life-long teacher in formal and informal settings, Gayle mentored youth through the Take Stock in Children program, tutored local students, ran the after-school program and taught at Grace Episcopal Day School, and annually provided home-stays for international students participating in the Institute of Worship Studies. She and Richard, a long-time team member of Kairos prison ministry, also led the Alpha Course, an opportunity to explore the meaning of life through Christianity. All who came into her life learned from her optimism, her can-do determination, and her belief that both Christian faith and forgiveness can transform lives.

Gayle was born in Wellesley, MA in 1948, where she grew up as one of five daughters to Marie Forbes and D. Thomas Trigg, long-time President & Chairman of the Shawmut Bank of Boston. She graduated from the Winsor School in Boston and the William Allen White School of Journalism at the University of Kansas and later earned a second degree in education from Washburn University.

She and her husband Richard raised a daughter, Maria Tess (and Hank) Barfield of Fleming Island, and a son, Thomas (and Sara) Trigg of Osterville MA. She was beloved Gigi to four grandchildren. She also leaves her four sisters: Carol Friedley of Bend OR, Marie Puffer of Westwood MA, Marge Duncan of Naples FL and Mashpee MA, and Ruth Barrett of Naples FL and Kennebunkport ME. A memorial service will be held at Grace Anglican Church, 5804 US-17, Fleming Island, FL on May 7, 2016 at 3:00 pm. Charles M. Harper

Charles M. Harper, 96, of Middleburg, FL passed away April 27, 2016. He was born in Evans County, GA on April 4, 1920 to Thomas C. and Lanie (Allen) Harper.

Mr. Harper was a WWII veteran, retired sheet metal worker and an active union member. He was a lifelong member of the Middleburg United Methodist Church who dedicated his life to his community by being active in the Clay County Agricultural Fair and the Clay County Food Bank. Mr. Harper loved music and fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, JoAnn Harper.

Mr. Harper is survived by his son, Randy Battle; life-long partner, Linda Pruitt; daughter, Pamela Strader; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his extended family, John, Cindy, Justin, Ashley and Cheyanne Orbe.
