Rollins graduates from Clemson University

CLEMSON, S.C. – Madeline Rollins of Fleming Island recently graduated summa cum laude from Clemson University with a bachelor of science in health sciences.

She was the recipient of the Faculty Scholarship Award, the College of Health, Education, and Human Development Scholastic Achievement Award and the College of Health, Education, and Human Development Phi Kappa Phi Award. She interned at the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, served as family and hospital relations chair, alumni relations chair and facilities chair of Clemson Miracle and is a member of the Alpha Epsilon Delta (Health Pre-professions) and Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Societies. She was the vice president of finance and sisterhood chairwoman of the Sigma Kappa sorority and served as a recruitment counselor for Clemson Panhellenic. A 2012 graduate of Fleming Island High, Rollins will attend medical school this fall at the University of South Florida.

Clay County students inducted into Phi Kappa Phi

BATON ROUGE, La. – Eight Clay County students were recently inducted into the prestigious collegiate honor society, Phi Kappa Phi.

Margaret Benson of Fleming Island was initiated at the University of North Florida, Cristynn Caddy of Orange Park and Samantha Creel of Green Cove Springs were both initiated at the University of South Florida, Douglas Buck of Fleming Island, Jai Chappell of Orange Park, Jennifer Hall of Middleburg and Xing Yee Leong of Fleming Island, were initiated at Jacksonville University and Christian Carpenter of Green Cove Springs was initiated at the University of Mississippi.

Membership is by invitation and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors, having at least 72 hours, are eligible for membership. Founded in 1897 at the University of Maine and headquartered in Baton Rouge, La., Phi Kappa Phi is the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline honor society. It inducts 30,000 students each year.
