MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Making their first foray into the NCAA National Quarterfinals in the history of the program, the Anderson University (28-6) volleyball team came out swinging and was able to take the first set, but unfortunately dropped the next three sets to the Tritons of Missouri-St. Louis at the UPMC Events Centers in Moon Township, Pa. on Thursday, December 7.

"I honestly thought the match went pretty much according to plan, the UMSL coach and I were talking a little pre-match and we both thought that our teams matched up well with each other," said head coach Todd Hay in his post-game press conference.

On the team is sophomore libero Katy Smith, a Fleming Island High School (FL) graduate, who scored one kill in the final game. Smith played in 32 matches, 252 digs and 412 receives, plus 38 service aces. Smith, whose sister Ally, was a four-year starter at Palm Beach Atlantic University; 2017-2021.

Anderson finishes the season with a 28-6 record, two AVCA and D2 CCA All-Region honorees in Long and Grimm. They were both named AVCA Honorable Mention All-American as well.
