Jesus’ resurrection is still fresh. Easter is always with us because Jesus is alive!

Early on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and some other women went to the tomb where Jesus had been laid after His crucifixion. They were there to anoint His body with spices.

Instead of finding the body of Jesus, they saw an angel. The angel told them that Jesus had risen from the dead and he gave them a message from the Lord. The angel gave them this message from Jesus: “Tell my disciples and Peter to meet me in Galilee.” (This is recorded in Mark chapter 6.)

The only one He named individually was Peter. This was the same man who had denied Him three times. After his third denial, Peter went out and “wept bitterly” at the realization of what he had done. All the Apostles had forsaken Him as they fled when He was arrested. But Peter’s denial was worse; it was deeply personal. It was the worst thing he had ever done. He had sinned against his Savior.

Jesus wanted Peter to know that he was forgiven. That is why He named Peter and specified that Peter had an appointment with Him in Galilee. (Mark 16:7)

Jesus did not forget him. And He forgave him.

He will never forget you. And He will forgive you!

Your failures are not your future. You have an appointment with the Lord. It is an appointment that He has made with you.

Peter had to do something to keep his appointment with Jesus. He had to go to Galilee because that is where Jesus said He would meet him.

You will have to do something to keep your appointment with Him. Hear Him! He is calling your name and telling you where to meet Him. Go to the “Galilee” of your appointment and meet Him. When Peter obeyed Him, it changed his life. Keeping your appointment with Him will change your life, too.
