AUBURN, Ala. – One of the SEC's top scorers will be joining Auburn women's basketball for 2024-25 as Taliah Scott has signed with the Tigers, head coach Johnnie Harris announced Monday.

Scott, a rising sophomore from Orange Park and St. Johns Country Day School, led Arkansas with 22.1 points per game in 2023-24, earning a selection to the SEC All-Freshman Team. She also averaged 3.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting 40.7 percent from the field and 83.8 percent at the free-throw line.
"Taliah Scott is one of the most complete players in the game today," Harris said. "She is an ELITE player who can score at all three levels and create for herself and her teammates without sacrificing the defensive side of the ball. Playing championship-level defense is the foundation of what we do as a program, and Taliah is committed to helping us elevate that culture. Her speed, skill and basketball IQ make her a rare and unique addition to our program."
In 20 games played for the Razorbacks this season, she topped the 20-point mark 13 times, including three games in the 30s. Her season high came on Nov. 17 with 34 points in a win over Arkansas State. She was named SEC Freshman of the Week four times.
"I chose Auburn not only because of the coaching staff's ability to help develop me and get me to where I want to be but also because of the family environment within the team and the entire community," Scott said. "I wanted to be surrounded by winners, and that's what Auburn has from the administration to the coaches and staff to the players. Auburn has everything I need to thrive and be the best version of myself!"
A product of St. John's Country Day School, she was the Florida Gatorade Player of the Year, Florida Dairy Farmers Miss Basketball and a McDonald's All-American as a senior in 2023. She was ranked the nation's No. 11 prospect by ESPN HoopGurlz. She finished her high school career with 2,735 points and averaged 36.2 points along with 9.2 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 3.0 steals as a senior.
Scott also led Oakleaf High School to a Final Four finish in her junior season.
In March, Scott was selected for the 2024 SEC All-Freshman Team, as announced by the league. This marks the third straight year head coach Mike Neighbors has landed a player on the All-Freshman Team, as well as the fourth selection in the Neighbors era at Arkansas.
Scott, who was one of eight tabbed to the SEC All-Freshman Team, started in 19 of 20 contests for the Hogs. She led the SEC for most of the season with 22.1 points per game, being the only one in the league to average 20.0+ points per game, as well as averaging 3.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. In the NCAA, she stood top 10 in scoring average for most of the season, logging 442 points in 20 contests. Scott tallied 19 double-digit scoring games while leading the Hogs in scoring in 15 of those games, as well as 13 20+ point games and three 30-point contests.
She was a five-time SEC Freshman of the Week, which tied a school record. Scott scored 29 points in her collegiate debut vs. ULM, which became the most points scored by a freshman in their collegiate debut in school history. She registered 24 points in Arkansas’ 71-58 win in the Hogs’ win over No. 15 Florida State in the SEC/ACC Challenge, as well as recorded a career-high 34 points at Arkansas State. Scott was named to the West Palm Beach Classic All-Tournament Team after averaging 21.5 points per game in Arkansas’ wins over Illinois and UIC. In her most recent three appearances in SEC play, she averaged 25.3 points per game across those contests. Including 33 points against Auburn, in which she tallied 17 of her points in the third quarter alone.
