ORANGE PARK – An Orange Park man driving along Moody Avenue without a license tag was arrested for trafficking fentanyl and possessing methamphetamine on March 14.
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Christopher Lee Tomlinson, 46, was spotted by a deputy who was parked in a church parking lot at 7:38 a.m. Tomlinson was stopped on Brookwood Road, and the deputy spotted what appeared to be methamphetamine in the middle of the driver’s seat and pieces of folded foil on the floorboards. After Tomlinson was detained, deputies found a container hidden in his groin that contained fentanyl powder.
Two days later, he was charged with smuggling a controlled substance into the Clay County Jail.
He was charged with trafficking fentanyl since the amount was more than four grams. He was also charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, and driving with a suspended license.
He is being held without bond.
