Ruise graduates from the University of Rhode Island
KINGSTON, Rhode Island – At the University of Rhode Island’s 132nd Commencement on May 19-20, about 3,300 undergraduate and 750 graduate students became the University’s newest alumni.
Brandis L Ruise of Middleburg received a doctorate in Psychology.
The University of Rhode Island’s research extends the University’s beyond its coastal borders, while its interdisciplinary courses provide its 16,637 undergraduate and graduate students with global opportunities in an intimate environment. In May 2018, more than 3,300 undergraduate and about 750 graduate degrees were awarded. The University now has more than 120,000 alumni worldwide.

Dandridge named to Dean’s List
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Jon Dandridge of Orange Park was named to Sherman College of Chiropractic’s Dean’s List for grades earned during the spring 2018 academic quarter. Dean’s List students have achieved a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the quarter.
Sherman College of Chiropractic provides students with a comprehensive education, preparing them to enter the field as doctors of chiropractic who are highly skilled, compassionate, ethical and successful. On its 80-acre campus in South Carolina, Sherman offers a first professional degree program unique in its approach to health care and known globally for the skill and art of chiropractic delivered by graduates. Holden graduates from Roger Williams University
BRISTOL, Rhode Island – Roger Williams University announced that Katie Holden, of Fleming Island graduated with an associate degree in paralegal studies in May as part of the Class of 2018.

Kuhn, Frazer graduate from Ithaca College
ITHACA, New York – Ithaca College congratulates all May 2018 graduates, one of whom are Samantha Frazer of Fleming Island, who graduated with a bachelor of arts in English and Brandon Kuhn of Orange Park who graduated with a bachelor of science in sports media.

Laird named to Clemson President’s List
CLEMSON, S.C. – Jillian T. Laird of Fleming Island has been named to the President’s List at Clemson University for the spring 2018 semester. Laird is majoring in Chemical Engineering.
To be named to the President’s List, a student must achieve a 4.0 (all As) grade-point average.

Schopp earns two all-academic honors
TALLAHASSEE – William Schopp of Fleming Island was among 46 student-athletes from Tallahassee Community College named to the Panhandle Conference All-Academic Team for having attained a minimum 3.0 GPA, either during the current academic year or over multiple years. He was also among 29 student-athletes from Tallahassee Community College named to the Florida College System Activities Association's All-Academic Team for having attained a minimum 3.30 GPA, either during the current academic year or over multiple years.
Offering an associate in arts degree for transfer to a state university in multiple tracks, as well as over 70 different degree and certificate programs that encompass a variety of fields, TCC has a wide range of educational pathways for students from all walks of life.

Five Clay students honored for academics at Alabama
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – A total of 11,347 students enrolled during the 2018 spring semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean’s List with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the President’s List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's).
The UA Dean’s and President’s lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.
Hannah C. Frain of Fleming Island and Allison Leigh Cassada of Orange Park, both made the President’s List.
While Rebecca M. Wilhite of Middleburg, Richard Kinkaid Williamson and William E Williamson Jr., both of Orange Park, made the Dean’s List.

Fisher named to Dean’s List
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Kyle Thomas Fisher of Orange Park was named to the Dean’s List at Greensboro College for the Spring 2018 semester.
To qualify, a student must have a 3.5 grade-point average or better for the semester while having taken at least half of his/her course credit hours at Greensboro College’s main campus.
Greensboro College provides a liberal arts education grounded in the traditions of the United Methodist Church and fosters the intellectual, social, and, spiritual development of all students while supporting their individual needs.

Peterson named to Dean’s List
DULUTH, Minn. – Michela Peterson, of Green Cove Springs, was named to the Spring 2018 Dean's List at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota
Dean’s List members have achieved a 3.75 grade point average or above on a 4.0 scale. The College of St. Scholastica would like to commend Peterson for this honorable academic achievement.

Carter named to Dean’s List
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Springfield College has named Andrew Carter of Orange Park to the Dean’s List for academic excellence for the spring 2018 term. Carter is studying business.
Criteria for selection to the Dean’s List requires that the student must have a minimum semester grade point average of 3.500 for the semester.

Clay residents graduate from Harding University

SEARCY, Arkansas – The following residents are three of more than 800 graduates who received a diploma at Harding University’s commencement exercises May 5.
Mackenzie Carroll of Orange Park received a bachelor of arts in communication sciences and disorders, Darci Flatley of Middleburg received a bachelor of arts in English and Emily Kilgore of Middleburg received a bachelor of arts in mathematics.
University President Bruce D. McLarty presented the diplomas to the graduates.
Harding University is a private Christian university located in Searcy, Arkansas. Accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, it is the largest private university in the state. Harding’s student body is made up of students representing 50 states and 54 nations and territories.

5 Clay students honored for academics at TCC

TALLAHASSEE – More than 1,000 students were named to the Spring 2018 President’s List at Tallahassee Community. To qualify, students must earn a semester grade point average of 4.0.
Kaila Kuchta of Orange Park, made the President’s List.
Meanwhile, more than 1,000 students were named to the spring 2018 Dean’s List at Tallahassee Community College. To qualify, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
Honorees are Katlyn Hatfield of Green Cove Springs, Jeane Johnson, Thomas O'Byrne and Sydney Peters, all of Orange Park.
Tallahassee Community College is consistently ranked as one of the top community colleges in the nation.

Gaines graduates from Widener University
CHESTER, Pennsylvania – Widener University conferred degrees to more than 600 graduate students in a ceremony May 18 at Memorial Field at the university.
Carmalita Gaines of Orange Park earned a master of social work from Widener’s School of Human Service Professions.
The commencement speaker was Jeffrey Rosen, president and CEO of the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia who was given an honorary doctor of law degree to recognize his accomplishments and records of service, in addition to his efforts to exemplify the Widener mission.
Widener University is a private, metropolitan university that connects curricula to social issues through civic engagement. A comprehensive doctorate-granting university, Widener comprises seven schools and colleges that offer liberal arts and sciences, professional and pre-professional curricula leading to associate, baccalaureate, master's and doctoral degrees.

University of Maine announces Dean’s List
Orono, Maine – A Fleming Island woman was among 2,214 students the University of Maine recognized for achieving Dean’s List honors during spring semester.
Ashley Sarra of Fleming Island was earned Dean’s List honors.
Of the students who made the Dean’s List, 1,634 are from Maine, 533 are from 31 other states and 47 are from 21 countries other than the U.S.
Listed below are students who received Dean’s List honors for spring 2018, completing 12 or more credit hours in the semester and earning a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Kowalkowski makes Dean’s List
ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – A Middleburg student was among more than 330 students named to the
Spring 2018 President’s List at Ouachita Baptist University.
Nick Kowalkowski of Middleburg met the requirement of earning a 4.0 grade point average while being a full-time student, with a minimum of 12 academic hours.
Ouachita Baptist University, a private Christian liberal arts university in Arkadelphia, is ranked among “Best National Liberal Arts Colleges” by U.S. News & World Report and among “America’s Top Colleges” by Forbes magazine. Serving since 1886 as a Christ-centered learning community, Ouachita has a current enrollment of more than 1,500 students from nearly 30 states and 30 nations.

Magruder named to Dean’s List

NEWBERG, Oregon – Jake Magruder of Fleming Island was among those who earned Dean’s List recognition at George Fox University for the spring 2018 semester. Traditional undergraduate students must earn a 3.5 grade point average or above on 12 or more hours of graded work to earn a spot on the dean's list. Magruder, a sophomore, is majoring in engineering.
More than 4,000 students attend classes on the university's campus in Newberg, Ore., and at teaching centers in Portland, Salem and Redmond, Ore. George Fox offers bachelor’s degrees in more than 40 majors, degree-completion programs for working adults, six seminary degrees, and 13 master’s and doctoral degrees.

Gardella named to Dean’s List

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Mason Lee Gardella of Fleming Island was named to the Dean’s List at the University of the South for the Easter 2018 term. To earn a place on Sewanee’s Dean's List, a student must earn a minimum grade point average of 3.625 on a 4.0 scale. Mason Lee Gardella is the daughter of Mona and David Gardella of Fleming Island.
The University of the South, familiarly known as Sewanee, is an independent liberal arts college located on 13,000 acres atop Tennessee’s Cumberland Plateau between Nashville and Chattanooga. It has been consistently ranked among the top tier of national liberal arts colleges.

Clay residents graduate from Florida Gulf Coast University
FORT MYERS – Two Clay County students recently graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University.
Taylor Berry of Fleming Island, recently graduated with a bachelor of arts from the College of Education. Mason Wilbanks of Fleming Island, recently graduated with a bachelor of science from the Lutgert College of Business.

Diaz Graduates from Graceland University

LAMONI, Iowa – Melanie Diaz of Fleming Island graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science in nursing from Graceland University.
Graduates from 39 states and 16 countries earned 582 degrees. There were 335 bachelor’s degrees earned, 241 master’s degrees, and six doctor of nursing practice degrees earned by 560 Graceland graduates.
Founded in 1895 and sponsored by Community of Christ, Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa, is a community of passionate, caring and dedicated individuals who put their relationships with students first.

Nieto graduates from Troy University
TROY, Ala. – Heidi Nieto of Middleburg graduated from Troy University during Term 4 of the 2017-18 academic year.
Nieto received the bachelor of science degree from the College of Health and Human Services.
Term 4 includes students at Troy’s campuses in Dothan, Phenix City and Montgomery, Ala., along with teaching sites outside of Alabama and online.

Clay students honored by Coastal Carolina University

CONWAY, S.C. – Two Clay County students were honored for their academic scholarship during spring 2018 semester.
Alexander Franklin, a management pre-major major from Orange Park, was named to the President’s List. Students named to the President's List acheived a perfect 4.0 grade point average during the semester.
Ryan Wethey, an information systems major from Fleming Island, was named to the Dean’s List.
Students who make the Dean’s List have achieved a 3.5 GPA or higher during the semester.
With a student population of 10,600, Coastal Carolina University is a public comprehensive liberal arts institution in Conway, just minutes from the resorts of Myrtle Beach.

Rivera named to William & Mary Dean’s List
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Gabriela Montesdeoca Rivera from Orange Park was recently named to the Dean’s List at William & Mary for the spring 2018 semester.
In order to achieve Dean’s List status, a full-time degree seeking undergraduate student must take at least 12 credit hours and earn a 3.6 Quality Point Average during the semester.
William & Mary is the second oldest institution of higher learning in the United States.

Gardella named to Sewanee Dean's List
