Augen named to Dean’s List
OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Stevenson University student Nadejda Augen of Fleming Island was recently honored for being named to the Spring 2017 Semester Dean’s List. Students who earn the Dean’s List honor must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a grade point average of a 3.50 or better.
Stevenson University is a coeducational, independent institution widely known for its unique synthesis of traditional liberal arts education and exceptional career preparation. The 4,200 students receive an innovative education from the six academic schools- business and leadership, design, education, humanities and social sciences, sciences, and graduate and professional studies. Each student experiences individual attention from faculty members and extensive career preparation gained through real-world training.

Clay residents graduate from Tulane University
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University awarded degrees to nearly 2,800 graduates on May 20 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
Danielle Krakosky of Fleming Island earned a master of science degree from Tulane’s School of Medicine.
Jordan Bittner of Orange Park earned a master of professional studies degree from Tulane’s Continuing Studies.
The ceremony’s keynote speaker was British actress Helen Mirren, an Oscar, Tony and Emmy Award-winning actress known for her support of humanitarian efforts. Mirren also received an honorary degree along with jazz great Branford Marsalis, civil rights activist Diane Nash and social psychologist Shelley Taylor.
Founded in 1834 in New Orleans, Tulane has 10 schools and colleges offering degrees in architecture, business, law, liberal arts, medicine, public health and tropical medicine, the sciences and engineering, and social work.

Laird named to Dean’s List
CLEMSON, S.C. – Jillian T. Laird of Fleming Island was named to the Dean’s List at Clemson University for the spring 2017 semester.
Laird is majoring in general engineering.
To be named to the Dean’s List, a student achieved a grade-point average between 3.50 and 3.99 on a 4.0 scale.
Clemson Agricultural College formally opened as an all-male military school in July 1893 with an enrollment of 446. In 1955, the college was given “civilian” status and became a coeducational institution. In 1964, the college was renamed Clemson University as the state Legislature formally recognized the school’s expanded academic offerings and research pursuits.

Clay students graduate from Fort Hays State University
HAYS, Kan. – Two local Florida students are among 2,124 students who completed associate, bachelor’s or graduate degrees at Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kansas, in the spring 2017 semester.
Katherine Crowley of Middleburg received a bachelor of general studies in literature and Timothy O. Lee of Orange Park received a bachelor of science in psychology.
Fort Hays State, one of six public universities in the Kansas Board of Regents system, does not release degree lists until transcripts have been verified as having met all requirements for graduation.
