WOMAN’S CLUB: A presentation “Hurricane Preparedness” by Mike Buresh, chief meteorologist at Action News, kicks off the year for the Woman’s Club, Sept. 7 at 10 a.m., Orange Park Woman’s Club, 130 Kingsley Ave. This event is open to the public.

SOIL & WATER DISTRICT: Clay County Soil & Water Conservation District meets Sept. 8 at 9 a.m. at the Clay County Extension office located at 2463 State Rd. 16 W, Green Cove Springs. Open to the public.

PLANT SALE: The UF/IFAS Clay County Master Gardener Program will be holding its annual plant sale on Sept. 9 from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. There will be many varieties of landscape plants available along with food and craft vendors, free workshops, and activities for kids. University of Florida/IFAS Clay County Extension, 2463 State Rd. 16 West, Green Cove Springs.

SPECIAL MAGISTRATE: Clay County Code Enforcement Special Magistrate Hearing will be on Sept. 7 beginning at 9:30 a.m., Board of County Commissioners’ Meeting Room, 4th floor, Administration Building, 477 Houston St., Green Cove Springs. The public can attend.

CHEESE STEAK SALE: The Auxiliary at VFW Post 5968 in Orange Park is having a fundraiser for home for veterans, Veterans Village, in Fort McCoy, which is run completely on funds raised by VFW posts in Florida. Cheese Steak sale, Sept. 9 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 4:30 – 7 p.m.

GARDEN CLUB OUTING: Whippoorwill Circle of the Garden Club of Orange Park is traveling to Winter Park on Sept. 27 in a coach leaving at 8 a.m. from Orange Park.
