Foy's Knights go for a double whammy

OAKLEAF - Oakleaf High football coach Chris Foy, in his first year, will open his on-field presence with a three-way preseason scrimmage with Sandalwood and Baldwin both visiting Oakleaf on Fri., Aug. 18.

Foy has orchestrated a summer conditioning program designed to have his team ready to execute the best in the fourth quarter.
"It's all about the finish," said Foy. "Big and strong is good. Big and strong still in the fourth quarter win games."
Sandalwood was 5-5 last year in 4M so playing the big boys while Baldwin hit the playoffs in 2S, a small school, but a formidable program nonetheless. Head coach Robert Shields has had playoff runs the past five seasons and his team comes ready to go. Foy will need to be ready and have his guys not thinking 2S playoffs. Baldwin will come with new faces, just like Foy, with a senior quarterback gone (992 YDs/10TDs), a senior running back gone (1110 Yds, 14TDs) and a senior receiver gone (24 passes/2TDs).
The Indians do return a stout tackler in linebacker Octavious Barnes (94 tackles) and a junior defensive back, Leon Kirkland that picked off five passes.
Foy's guys feature a senior quarterback Brandon Wallace, Jr., who steps in after a season watching from the sidelines, a rugged running back, Chris Foy II, and a massive offensive line; led by Quory Ambrose and Chase Johnson, intent on moving people.
"He does push us," said Ambrose, near 280-300 pounds and knocking out 18-inch box jumps for Foy. "We got me, Chase Johnson (310 lbs), Aiden Radzelovage, Akeem Neal (285 lbs) and Mykel Mayo (300 lbs) on the front line and we are going to be moving people."
Foy also has a two-prong linebacker duo; Neil Whyte and Dajon Brown that will be formidable on the line of scrimmage. James Kitchen at secondary and Bryson Kitt anchor a stellar secondary.
Sandalwood loses a senior quarterback, Baylor Hayes (1,000YDs, 5TDs) who transferred to Brentwood HS in Tennesee and a top rusher, senior Jordan Bean (1403YDs, 6TDs, now at Mars Hill University) and a senior touchdown machine in Jhamari Harvell (13TDs).
