Food drive helps fill food banks
LAKE ASBURY – The Middleburg Methodist Church, The Agape House First Baptist Church in Middleburg and the Middleburg Senior Center will be beneficiaries of a record-setting food drive that will help replenish their food pantries. The Middleburg Black Creek Lions Club collected over 1,000 pounds of food on June 3 and set a new club record for a one-day food drive. Yvonne Gordon-Owens, food drive project manager, said Lions Club members volunteered in full force at the Henley Road Winn Dixie. “We were over-joyed with the generosity of the Lake Asbury folks, and we would like to thank all who contributed,” Gordon-Owens said. The public is invited to the Lions Club annual meeting on June 27 at the Middleburg Senior Center. For more information, contact Ed Dickson at edickson4264@yahoo.com.
