GAINESVILLE - Keystone Heights High’s girls golf team, led by sophomore Camille Jackson, won decisively in the district 6-1A golf championships held Monday at the University of Florida golf course.
Jackson, a Class 1A championship tournament qualifier the past two years, finished second overall to P.K. Yonge’s Katelyn Huber who finished with a 73 score to Jackson’s 79.
Keystone Heights finished with 334 strokes for a team score which was the exact score that the Lady Indians won the title with last year. The Lady Indians have won four consecutive district titles.
Following Jackson were Sloan Siebert with an 80, sister Candace Jackson with an 87, Savannah Heinz with an 88 and Ashton Ludwig with a 97.
Keystone Heights advances to the region 2-1A championship tournament at the Gainesville Country Club on October 22.
In 2017, Bolles won the region 2-1A tournament with Camille Jackson scoring a 78 to advance to the state meet. At state, Jackson finished 45th with a 163 (82-81) score at Mission Inn Resort and Club in Howey in the Hills.
At the district tournament, Oak Hall, with a 437 score, took the second overall spot. with P.K. Yonge, St. Francis and St. Joseph not fielding full teams.
