MIDDLEBURG – A man driving erratically on Blanding Boulevard was arrested after deputies found drugs in his car during a traffic stop.

Shawn Scott Lipscomb, 19, of Jacksonville, was charged with trafficking fentanyl and methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia on April 27 after a deputy noticed Lipscomb swerving on the roadway. According to the arrest report, the deputy was driving home when he saw Lipscomb “making erratic corrections in an attempt to maintain its lane and struck the median curb multiple times.” He pulled Lipscomb over in a parking lot. During his driving under the influence field sobriety test, another deputy noticed drug paraphernalia in the driver’s side door that was left open. A subsequent search uncovered the drugs.

Under Florida law, trafficking charges apply to 14 or more grams of methamphetamine and four grams of fentanyl.

Lipscomb is at the Clay County Jail without bond.
