McCormick completes basic training
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – U.S. Air Force Airman Caroline G. McCormick graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas.
McCormick completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
A 2016 graduate of Keystone Heights Junior-Senior High School, McCormick is the daughter of Daniel McCormick and Wanda Higgins of Keystone Heights.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Christina Carter, a 2015 graduate of Fleming Island High School, has been accepted to the U.S. Navy’s Nuclear Propulsion Officer Candidate Program.
Carter, the daughter of Billy and Kim Carter of Fleming Island, is currently a junior at the University of Florida which she is studying mechanical engineering.
She was the first recipient of the Sydney Newberg Memorial Scholarship presented by Vietnam Veterans of America Clay County Chapter 1059.
Carter, who was recommended for the program by Admiral James Caldwell Jr., director of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion program, upon graduation will attend Officers Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island.
