Cameron Roderick Burgess
Cameron Roderick Burgess, March 1, 1981 - December 9, 2018.
Cameron was born in Memphis, TN and grew up in Middleburg, Fla.
He is survived by his parents Kathy Burgess and Tim Brown of Satsuma, Fla. and Terry Crittendon of Murray, KY, Grandmother; Helen Crittendon of Fulton, KY. and his son Eison Roderick Burgess of Middleburg, Fla. and his sisters Erika Crittendon & Kelly Green of Clinton, KY and Eve Keller of Royal Oak, MI.
He was preceeded in death by his Grandparents Daniel & Norma Herman of Mayfield, KY. Lawerence Elvis Burgess (Elvon) of Milburn, KY and Hershel Crittendon of Fulton, KY. He loved his son very much. Cameron had lots of friends and was a very talented musician who loved to sing and play his guitar. He also liked art and drawing. He will be missed dearly. A memorial service will be held for family and friends at the end of Nolan Rd. on Black Creek in Middleburg, Fla. The date has not yet been set and we will let everyone know.

Joan Irene Newman

Joan Irene Newman, age 89, peacefully went home to be with the Lord, December 14, 2018.  She was born November 04, 1929, and was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Fla. Joan attended Kirby Smith Jr. High and Andrew Jackson High School. She was a member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God for many years. Prior to that, she was a member of Bethel Temple Assembly of God, serving as a Sunday school teacher and Missionettes Leader. She served on the Woman’s Missionary Council, both at the district and sectional level. She loved music and sang in the church choir. Joan was a devoted wife and loving stay at home mother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing golf and going to Gator games. Her cooking skills were unsurpassed.  She had a heart of gold, always giving and never taking. She was one in a million!  Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Scott and Myrtle Long, and grandson, Joshua Duckworth. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dolphus Newman; 5 children:  Al (Margaret) Duckworth, Debra (DeWayne) Igou, Gary (Pamela) Bailey, Charles (Angie) Newman, and Donald (Theresa) Newman; eight loving grandchildren and seven precious great-grandchildren. 
The celebration of her life was held Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Noon at Evangel Temple Assembly of God, 5755 Ramona Blvd., Jacksonville.  The graveside service was held at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd.  Services were officiated by Pastor Garry Wiggins.
The Family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Penney Retirement Community for their love and care. Joan especially enjoyed the daily visits from her husband, and those from her dear friend and caregiver, Geraldine Manning.

Joseph Austin Gay

Command Master Sergeant Joseph Austin Gay, US Army (Ret.), 78, of Hawthorne, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka.
A native of Starke, Joseph had lived in Hawthorne for the past 12 years. He was in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict, two tours in Vietnam, and at the Pentagon retiring after 21 years of active duty. He then served 20 more years in the US Army Reserve.
He was a graduate of Bradford High School and was a member AmVets in Keystone Heights.
He is survived by his wife Chong Gay of Hawthorne; a step-son, Bobby Minton of Gainesville; two step-daughters and son-in law, Cheryl Minton-Smith and Gregory Smith of Keystone Heights and Pamela Minton of Hawthorne; and two grandchildren, Milo Smith and Owen Littler.
A memorial service is planned for 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the family residence in Hawthorne.
