"I would love to be around a while and kind of build a powerhouse program," said Schermerhorn. "It's here and I think all the kids need is some strong discipline and focus to achieve it. Discipline, they will learn, is my trademark."

Fisher and Schermerhorn will be exchanging ideas in the classrooms to try and jump start the program run by now-Oakleaf High's new coach Jamie Reed.

"The girls here are so athletic and if they focus on the discipline of the sport itself, they will be so much better," said Schermerhorn. "I played all the positions while at Southeastern so I got to feel all the positions."

At Southeastern, Schermerhorn had seasons of 68, 79 and 33 kills for her three varsity seasons with dig totals fo 24, 28 and 12.

In 2017, Schermerhorn's senior season at Southeastern, the team finished with a 23-8 overall record, but lost in the Sun Conference semifinal to Webber International. The 23-8 record was the best since a 28-7 slate in 2010.
