Faith walk: The Love Walk

1 Corinthians 13 may be the greatest chapter in the Bible. While there could be dissent on this, I believe there would be agreement that this chapter is the greatest chapter on practical Christianity.

If you will live the love-walk as described in this chapter, you will have success in the relationships of your life.

It starts with the declaration that great spiritual gifts are worthless without love. (Verses 1 & 2)

Then we are told great generosity and sacrifice have no value without love. (Verse 3)

Love gives up the right to be right. (Verses 4-7)

Even great spiritual gifts will come to an end. But love will endure forever. (Verses 810)

Faith, hope and love endure forever. Great sermons have been preached on each of these gifts of God. Rightfully so. They are each powerful gifts from God for the fulfillment of our spiritual destiny. And as wonderful, powerful and glorious as each of them is, the greatest of all is LOVE.

Faith even works by love. (Galatians 5:6) Our foundation is more love than faith. If you have love, you will have faith.

The fruit of the Holy Spirit, God’s personal presence, in our lives is love! (Galatians 5:22) From this precious spiritual fruit come joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness and faithfulness.

I strongly recommend that you read 1 Corinthians 13. Get your Bible in an English Standard Version, New International Version or New Living Translation and read this chapter. Then read it several more times. If you will live by it, your life and relationships will be powerful.

Love never fails. The greatest of all is love. This is the way to live every day. Start the New Year on the right path.
