ORANGE PARK – After 10 weeks of meticulous practice and rehearsals, the Orange Park Chorale stunningly performed "Walk with Me" at the Presbyterian Church, hitting every note with precision, passion and poignancy.
The bass, tenor, alto and soprano sections were all in sync and mixed warmly with the accompanying piano, violin and other instruments. Not just the music but the evocative emotions themselves seemed to reverberate through the church.
"Walking" with others was a central theme throughout the production, exemplified by "You Do Not Walk Alone," "Walking 'Cross the Sea," "Walk in Jerusalem," and "I'll Walk by Your Side."
An especially moving rendition was "Walk in My Shoes," an emotionally powerful and joyful listen that encourages us to understand and empathize with those in our daily lives.
Four students from the Orange Park High Varsity Ensemble joined in for the finale, "Walk a Mile," a fitting high-note end to the performance.
Orange Park Chorale was founded in 1992 by Dr. Carole Clifford. More than 30 years later, the musical group continues to grow as a vibrant community vocal ensemble, enriching the cultural landscape of Northeast Florida with its performances throughout the year.
The Orange Park Chorale accepts new members twice a year before the fall and spring rehearsal periods. Rehearsals are held Monday evenings from 7-9 p.m. If you are interested in auditioning, please email David Holladay at daholladay@comcast.net or OPCinfo@orangeparkchorale.com.
