CLAY COUNTY – Justin J. Waters announced he will run for Florida’s Third Congressional District seat.

Waters, a Republican, is focused on public service, stands up for the rights of all Americans by protecting and defending the U.S. Constitution, the values of our Founding Fathers, limiting government and taking responsibility through protecting individual rights and our rule of law.

“Fiscal spending is out of control in Washington due to big spending on non-sustainable projects that do not better us as a nation,” Waters said. “I will stand against uncontrolled government spending that threatens the happiness and prosperity of our children.”

Florida’s 3rd District is comprised of Clay, Alachua, Putnam, Bradford and Union counties, as well as portions of Marion County.

Waters, his wife Joanne Elizabeth Waters, and two young children live in Alachua.

The Waters are lifetime Floridians and are proud to raise and educate their children in North Central Florida public schools. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida, and his Juris Doctorate from the Florida Coastal School of Law. Waters is a member of the Florida Bar Association and a practicing attorney for the Eighth Judicial Circuit Guardian Ad Litem Program.

“Congress is failing and our children will be the ones who will suffer for the bad decisions of our current leadership. Our children deserve better. As your next Congressman, I will continue to protect our children and our tax dollars,” Waters said.

Waters grew up hunting in North Florida and will protect our Second Amendment rights.

“Our Second Amendment rights are being threatened every day by our current representatives in Washington, D.C, who have forgotten what our Forefathers fought so hard for, which is our freedom and the right to bear arms,” Waters said.

He also is a Navy veteran. “I understand the importance of standing up for the freedoms that our great nation provides,” Waters said. “I believe in hard work and personal accountability.”

The seat currently is held by Kat Cammack.

The primaries are scheduled for Aug. 23, 2022, and the General Election is on Nov. 8, 2022.
