PHILADELPHIA - Kaylah Turner, a sophomore guard from Oakleaf High School in Clay County, FL, has had standout performances as a point guard at Temple University in Philadelphia, recently earning an American Athletic Conference Honorable Mention and Big 5 Player of the Week.
In a 75-69 win over FAU, Turner scored a career-high 25 points, shooting 8-of-14 from the field, 5-of-8 from three-point range, and 4-of-8 from the free-throw line. She also recorded four rebounds and two steals. In a 73-71 victory over Tulsa, Turner scored 15 points in her first start, hitting 6-of-15 field goals, 3-of-5 from beyond the arc, and adding three steals to her stat line.
Turner was coached by Fred Cole while at Oakleaf and was part of a Final Four run for the Lady Knights.
