Pink Ribbon Symposium Butterfly Race

The winners of the Pink Ribbon Symposium Butterfly Race to serve National Cancer Survivors Day on June 4 in Orange Park had Lashaniqua Howard, 34, winning the womens title in a tunnel of pride with mens winner Salvavor Camacho, 52, taking early lead in first half mie to 19:22 winning time. For the Fun Run one miler, winner Steven DeSanto, 9, almost gets to break the finish line tape ahead of dad, David, and brother Lochlainn, 4, in the carriage. Kids run starts with a cannon blast.

Donut Get Caught 5K

Clay County Sheriff Michelle Cook, center, supervises her Donut Protection Service prior to the Clay PAL Donut Get Caught 5K, held Sat., May 28 at the Orange Park Mall. At the start, high flyers, Carter Roberts and Logan Taylor blast from start of 5K. Womens winner Veronica Sheppard strides in to win in fifth place over in 21:39. Husband Alan Sheppard won mens title in 19:43.

Memorial Day 5K

The Memorial Day 5K in Orange Park was won decisively by St. Johns Country Day School graduate and twice state champion Matthew Stratton in 15 minutes, 16 seconds over runnerup Jonathan Hulzebos, 26, who finished in 15:27. For the girls, Krista White, 26, won in 18:51 ahead of Mikaela McGee, 19:19. Runners get set for cannon start while kids Fun Run one mile gets going much to surprise of some on left.
