MIDDLEBURG - Middleburg High quarterback Brooke Swenson has been smooth as the cold side of a pillow in her pocket presence for the Lady Broncos flag football team with a combination of tosses to wideout Cheyenne Jenkins and pitches to fleet-footeds Laura Palagyi and Jaden Lopresti as the Stilianou-led attack stayed in unbeaten territory with a 25-0 win over Orange Park and a 20-0 win over previously 6-1 Clay High on Mon., April 11.

The Blue Devils had a rough time with Florida Deaf; a 20-18 loss on April 4, but regrouped to beat a dangerous Ridgeview squad led by quarterback Nia Blocton, 13-6. Against Orange Park, with rusher Desiree Hall being a pest in the Raider backfield and quarterback Caroline Hutchins, the Broncos needed some time to find their groove before Swenson plunged in from a yard out with 37 seconds left in the first quarter to go up just 6-0. Kayleigh McWatters’ PAT catch pushed the game to 7-0.

A Jenkins interception with four minutes to halftime as Swenson got inside the 10 yard line a second time behind offensive tactics from Alexis Stilianou.

Swenson found a third set of speed with jetster Juliana White catching and bursting 12 yards to paydirt to put Middleburg up 19-0 in the third period.

Swenson got a final score in the fourth with center Kelsey Harrelson stretching in after a pass over the middle.
