Governor appoints Michael Bourre to the Florida Building Commission
TALLAHASSEE – Gov. Ron DeSantis announced the reappointment of Michael Bouree, W. Grey Marker II and Paul Jones to the Florida Building Commission.
Bourré, of Fleming Island, has been the President of Bourré Construction Group since 2004. He is President of the Florida Home Builders Association and serves on the Clay County Planning Commission. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, earned an honorable discharge and received his bachelor’s degree in construction management from the University of Florida.
Marker, of Fort Lauderdale, is Chief Executive Officer of Marker Construction Group, a general contracting and construction management firm based in South Florida, while Jones, of Jacksonville, is the President and Chief Operating Officer for W.W. Gay Mechanical Contractor, Inc. He is a certified plumbing contractor, certified mechanical contractor and a certified general contractor.

offering ‘Return to Work’ job fair
CLAY COUNTY – Career CareerSource Northeast Florida is partnering with a variety of businesses throughout the region to host a virtual ‘Return to Work’ hiring fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 24.
Nearly 50 companies representing a variety of industries have already signed up to take part in the hiring fair, including Duval County Public Schools, Graham Staffing Services, Leware Construction Company, Fanatics Inc., GATE Petroleum, 1A Auto, Lynx -Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority, Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort and Spa, Farah and Farah, along with many others.
“Through this and other job seeker workshops and events, CareerSource NEFL is supporting the Department of Economic Opportunity’s (DEO) Return to Work initiative to encourage Floridians to return to the workforce and help employers attract job seekers – both efforts that help fuel our state’s economic growth,” said CareerSource NEFL President Bruce Ferguson.

Berkshire Hathaway conducts 22nd annual Backpack Challenge

FLEMING ISLAND – Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty proudly announces its 22nd Annual Backpack Challenge.
The Northeast Florida real estate firm is collecting new backpacks and school supplies for local children at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty offices beginning June 21 through July 19.
The backpacks and school supplies will be donated to local charities that serve Northeast Florida children.
“We know that beginning the school year with a new backpack filled with supplies makes a difference in the lives of children living in our communities,” said Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty CEO Kevin Waugaman. “We appreciate the numerous donations we have received from our team members and the community in the past, and we encourage everyone to support this worthy cause and important company tradition.”
