TALLAHASSEE - Business, community, county, city and town officials ascended on the Florida State Capitol on Wednesday for the two-day start of Clay Day, an annual retreat to meet with the two Florida Representatives and Senator to affirm programs beneficial to the county. Wednesday's schedule included a meet-and-greet at the Capitol rotunda, followed by a reception at the Florida Professional Firefighter Union Hall. Thursday's program included sessions with Reps. Sam Garrison, Judson Sapp, Sen. Jennifer Bradley, and a special recognition for CCFR firefighters, Lt. Thomas Gill and Joe Hutchins, who rescued and revived a 15-month-old girl from Black Creek last August. They were honored by the full Florida House of Representatives during the legislative session.
