Clay County Cruzers “Cruise for Food Drive”

ORANGE PARK – The Clay County Cruzers teamed up with Tom and Betty’s Restaurant to support the Food Pantry of Green Cove Springs. The Cruzers staffed a “Cruise for Food” collection in the parking lot to help fill empty shelves caused by the increased demands of the local economy created by shutdowns and sheltering in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. When our friends and neighbors need help, the Clay County Cruzers jumped into action. Helping to handle the flow of traffic and the receipt of non-perishable goods were the two 2020 Clay County Cruzers scholarship award winners, Joseph Carlascio and Justin Osterhout. Both are 2020 graduates of Fleming Island High. They are shown here receiving their scholarship checks from President Mike Hourihane and Vice President Tony Pudoff. Thanks to both for helping and to all in the community who came out and donated more than 1,500 pounds of food and $120 for the food drive. More information about the Clay County Cruzers charitable efforts can be found on our website at www.claycountycruzers.com.
