GREEN COVE SPRINGS — Whether relaxing in their air-conditioned cars or sitting on top of them, a crowd of movie-lovers had a night of "reel" fun on June 6.
Clay Events hosted their first of several "Reel Fun Nights" drive-in movies scheduled for every Friday in the month of June.
Beginning at 6 p.m., attendees enjoyed a share of concessions from food trucks and vendors, including southern comfort snacks, Mexican cuisine, freshly popped popcorn and stirred cotton candy.
Additionally, the event featured a Kid Zone, with a bounce house and free air tattoos courtesy of Airtat Body Art.
The movie Migration began around 8:30 p.m. Guests were prompted to turn their FM radio stations on and watch as the sky darkened and the film shined on a 30-foot projector screen.
Next up on the list of showings is Dog Man on June 13, Surf's Up on June 20 and Top Gun on June 27.
Tickets should be purchased ahead of time at https://www.claycountyfair.org/p/about/events/movie-tickets.
General admission is $35 per carload, while VIP is $50 per carload and includes front-row parking and a bucket of popcorn.
For $10, movie-goers can also opt to bring their own chairs and enjoy front-row seating in the sitting area.
