Orange Park’s McDonald graduates from Tampa

TAMPA – Mya McDonald recently graduated from The University of Tampa. McDonald graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies.
The virtual commencement ceremony included 1,781 undergraduate and graduate candidates. The ceremony included remarks by UT President Ronald Vaughn, James S. MacLeod, chair of UT's Board of Trustees, the deans of UT's four colleges and student challenge speakers. Additionally, each graduate received a personalized video commemorating their achievement.

Huntingdon awards degree to Keystone’s Trimble

MONTGOMERY Ala. – Keystone Heights’ Raymond Trimble graduated from Huntingdon College on May 29 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Exercise Science.
Huntingdon College, grounded in the Judeo-Christian tradition of the United Methodist Church, is committed to nurturing growth in faith, wisdom, and service and to graduating individuals prepared to succeed in a rapidly changing world. Founded in 1854, Huntingdon is a residential coeducational liberal arts college.

Orange Park’s Fogarty graduates from Georgia State

ATLANTA – Elizabeth Fogarty graduated from Georgia State University during the Spring 2021 semester.
Fogarty earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, majoring in Finance.
More than 4,000 students graduated from Georgia State University at the associate's, bachelor's and graduate levels during the Spring 2021 semester.

Zheng, McCormick earn degrees from Georgia Tech

ATLANTA – The Georgia Institute of Technology presented degrees to approximately 4,435 undergraduate and graduate students during the Institute's 260th Commencement exercises at Bobby Dodd Stadium, including Yining Zheng of Fleming Island with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering with Highest Honors and Colin McCormick, also of Fleming Island, with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering.
The Georgia Institute of Technology, or Georgia Tech, is a Top 10 public research university developing leaders who advance technology and improve the human condition.

Fleming Island’s Stennett on President's List at Mississippi College

CLINTON, Miss. – Madelyn Madelyn Stennett was selected to the Spring 2021 President's List at Mississippi College.
The Mississippi College Office of Academic Affairs releases the president's list after the close of fall and spring semesters each academic year. To be eligible for the President's List, a student must maintain a 4.0 grade point average, based on a 4.0 system. The student must take a full course load of at least 12 semester hours of undergraduate credit with all academic courses impacting their grade point average.

Fleming Island’s Rosenau makes Samford’s Dean’s List

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Samford University recognized 1,703 students named to the 2021 spring semester Dean's List, including Madelyn Rosenau of Fleming Island.
To qualify for the dean's list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. Dean's List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.
Samford is a leading Christian university offering undergraduate programs grounded in the liberal arts with an array of nationally recognized graduate and professional schools.

Fleming Island's Jiang on Iowa’s Dean’s List

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Eric was among the more than 7,000 undergraduate students at the University of Iowa named to the dean's list for the 2021 spring semester.
Jiang is a third-year undergraduate student in the UI's Tippie College of Business and is majoring in Marketing.
Dean's list status was earned by 872 first year undergraduates during the 2021 spring semester at Iowa, 1,579 second year students, 1,947 third year students, and 2,687 fourth year students.

10 local students make Valdosta State’s Dean’s List

VALDOSTA, Ga. – Ten former high school students from Clay County earned spots on the Dean’s List at Valdosta State for the Spring semester.
They are: Kyleigh Reedy, Natalie Almonte, Cassidy Wynn, Timothy Hinson and Mytavia Cooper, all of Middleburg; Zachary Blankenship and Kiley Musco of Fleming Island; Julia Higdon of Orange Park; and, Bre'niah Hare and Diamond Brown of Oakleaf.
Dean's List honors are reserved for the highest achieving students at VSU. To qualify students must achieve a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on nine or more semester hours with an institutional grade point average of 3.00 or higher. Please note that developmental studies, transient, and graduate students are not eligible for Dean's List status.

Local students earn academic honors at Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alyssa Muller and Aysia Washington earned spots on the University of Alabama academics lists for the Spring term.
Mueller, from Fleming Island, made the President’s List, while Washington, from Oakleaf, is on the Dean’s List.
They were two of 11,813 students enrolled during the spring term who made the Dean's List with academic records of 3.5 or better (on a 4.0 scale), or the President's List with academic records of 4.0 (all As).

Fleming Island’s Solomon receives academic honors

BOSTON – Northeastern University is pleased to recognize those students who distinguish themselves academically during the course of the school year. Fleming Island’s Erin Solomon, a Northeastern University student majoring in comm studies/theatre, was recently selected to the University's dean's list for the Spring semester, which ended in May.
To achieve the dean's list distinction, students must carry a full program of at least four courses, have a quality point average of 3.5 or greater out of a possible 4.0 and carry no single grade lower than a C- during the course of their college career. Each student receives a letter of commendation and congratulation from their college dean.
