Quigley House’s Bike Poker Run is on Saturday
GREEN COVE SPRINGS – Quigley House will hold its Bike Poker Run at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, at the Clay County Courthouse.
The entry fee is a bottle of wine to be used at the organization’s Wine Gala fundraiser on April 17.
The poker run will have prizes for the best and worst hand. Participants will end the run at Whitey's Fish Camp on Fleming Island. Whitey's will offer a free appetizer and drink specials for participants. In addition, participants will receive a 25% discount on regularly priced items at the Quigley House Thrift Store at 1017 Blanding Blvd. through March 20.
All Bikers are invited to this event.
Clay County’s Quigley House, the only dual certified Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Center has been approved for a new Florida Council Against Sexual Violence grant. The new program will address the prevention of sexual violence, especially as it affects area youth. Quigley House provides the following services free to survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence: emergency shelter, 24-hour hotline, individual and group counseling, victim advocacy, Injunction for Protection legal assistance, court advocacy, case management, information and referrals, pet shelter (one of a few in the state), economic justice and child advocacy.

Clay County Cruzers offers a scholarship
CLAY COUNTY – Graduating seniors are eligible and encouraged to apply for a $1,500 Clay County Cruzers Scholarship. Applicants must be graduating from the Clay County School System. Students are eligible if they are going to attend any post-secondary program of study including colleges, universities or vocational/technical schools.
Applicants are requested to write an essay of approximately 150 words and complete a short application form. Scholarship applications must be received by Clay County Cruzers on or before the application deadline of March 31.
The scholarship documents will be provided to each high school guidance office. The instructions and application form provide all relevant information a student needs to apply. These forms are also available on the Clay County Cruzers website at: www.claycountycruzers.com.
Selected candidates may be asked to attend a Clay County Cruzers meeting to introduce themselves and describe their plans.

Each applicant will be notified once their application is received.
The winners will be announced in April.
