ORANGE PARK – Orange Park Medical Center added General Surgeon Dr. Scott Lind to the hospital’s physician practice Orange Park Surgical Specialists.
Dr. Lind specializes in surgical oncology and brings more than 25 years of experience to the community by providing a broad range of services including surgical oncology, minimally invasive surgery, hernia repair, breast cancer, colon cancer, gallbladder and benign tumors.
Dr. Lind joins Orange Park Medical Center from the Veteran’s Administration Health System. He is board certified by The American Board of Surgery, completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Texas with a fellowship in surgical oncology at the Medical College of Virginia. He has served in numerous professor and chief positions throughout his career. His most recent roles include Professor, Chairman and Program Director of General Surgery at UF College of Medicine in Jacksonville and Associate Chief of Surgical Services with the North Florida South Georgia VA Health System.
“I strive to provide high quality patient centered care to all of my patients in the office and at the hospital,” says Dr. Lind. “I treat every patient as if they were a family member."
Dr. Lind is accepting in-office and telehealth patient appointments at Orange Park Surgical Specialists early this summer. Orange Park Surgical Specialists is taking extra measures to keep patients safe from COVID-19 including frequent cleaning of high touch surfaces, screening all patients for COVID-19 symptoms, universal masking and encouraging social distancing. In addition to providing surgical care to the community, Dr. Lind is serving as the hospital’s Graduate Medical Education General Surgery Program Director.
The hospital received nearly 800 applicants for just six general surgery resident positions.
“I’m incredibly proud to join and mentor the bright and dedicated surgical residents we have at Orange Park Medical Center,” said Dr. Lind.
The five-year general surgery residency program provides training in elective, emergency, outpatient and inpatient surgery and observation of critical and non-operative care.
