County pauses voter registration until precinct lines are drawn

Posted

CLAY COUNTY – Clay County Elections Office is currently in the process of drawing new precinct lines due to legislative reapportionment, which occurs after each U.S. Census. Lawmakers are still finalizing the district boundaries from which Florida voters elect their representation.

Because of this your precinct or representation may change. The Elections Office has decided to pause Voter Information Cards that are sent to each voter whenever they register to vote or update their voter information. You will be registered, but you will not receive a Voter Information Card until Redistricting is completed. In its place, the Elections Office will be sending a postcard with this information and a QR code that links to our website.

Supervisor of Elections, Chris H. Chambless, reminds residents that a Voter Information Card is informational only and not needed to vote. Once Redistricting is completed, anticipated by June 1, 2022, new Voter Information Cards will be mailed out.

If you don’t receive a postcard, you may check your status online at ClayElections.gov under the “My Registration Status” icon. All voters are encouraged to regularly review their information for accuracy.

If you have questions, or need more information, visit ClayElections.gov or call the office at (904) 269-6350.
