GREEN COVE SPRINGS – Clay County Supervisor of Elections, Chris H. Chambless, reminds voters that the last day to register to vote for the Primary Election is Monday, July 20.

Election Day is Aug. 18. July 20 is also the deadline to change your party affiliation. Florida is a Closed Primary state, which means voters are limited to choosing candidates of their own party:

• Democrats may only vote for Democratic candidates.

• Republicans may only vote for Republican candidates.

• Voters registered with a minor party, or with No Party Affiliation, may only vote in nonpartisan contests and referendums. It’s easier than ever to register to vote, or change your party, online at RegistertoVoteFlorida.gov

For those who prefer a paper registration form, they may be downloaded on ClayElections.gov, under the “Register to Vote” icon. They are also available at post offices, public libraries, public assistance offices, most government agencies, and the Elections Office at 500 N. Orange Ave., Green Cove Springs.

Paper applications must be signed and postmarked by July 20 to be valid for the Primary Election. All voters are encouraged to review their information and make any updates prior to Election Day.

If you have any questions, or would like more information, please visit ClayElections.gov or call our office at (904) 269-6350.
