ORANGE PARK – All Kids Care, a daycare that provides service to children who are medically fragile, held a Fourth of July celebration at their clinic in Orange Park on June 30.
Nurses and T
therapists helped the children to decorate their cribs, walkers and wheelchairs to hold a celebratory parade in front of their Orange Park building. Shannon Clark, Director of Nursing for All Kids organized the parade as fun way for the children to celebrate the Fourth of July Holiday while promoting community integration for children with special needs.
The Parade was highlighted by a visit from several Clay County Sheriff’s Office patrol cars with lights and sirens blazing. In addition to the CCSO, John Ward and staff from the Clay County Emergency Operations Center were in attendance to cheer the children on. Clay County Emergency Operations has been working closely All Kids Care during the COVID -19 crisis in effort to keep the children safe.
“With all of the stressful events that have happened this year this was refreshing opportunity for these children and their families to have some fun,” said Dr. Jon Edenfield, executive director of Great Strides Rehabilitation which provides therapy services to the children.”
All Kids Care is a medical daycare center located in Orange Park that specializes in providing care for medically fragile infants and children from birth to age 21. These children frequently require heart monitors, oxygen, respiratory equipment and other highly specialized medical equipment. Daily care at the center involves specialized nursing care, therapy services, educational opportunities, music therapy, pet therapy and more.
The center was established in 2016 and presently serves 30 to 35 children who are medically fragile.
“We really appreciate the Clay County community agencies who helped to make this event so special for the children we serve,” said Carrie Moon, who oversees operations at All Kids.
