Clay Today will test your knowledge weekly and provide interesting facts on various topics. This week, Billboard Top 100’s top songs. There are several ways to measure a song’s success – sales, most plays by disc jockeys and jukeboxes and length of time on the Billboard Top 100. It’s no surprise the Beatles have the most songs on the list, followed by Madonna, Elton John, Elvis Presley and Mariah Carey, the record for being ranked No. 1 the longest is Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” at 19 weeks. Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day,” Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee featuring Justin Bieber’s “Despacito” and Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” are second at 16 weeks … Bob Marley and the Wailers hold the record for holding the No. 1 spot among albums (reggae division), and it’s not even close. Their “Legend” was atop the charts for 126 weeks, beating Queen’s “Greatest Hits” by 21 weeks … While it only spent one week at No. 1, Pink Floyd has the distinction of holding a spot on the Top 100 for a staggering 861 weeks with its classic “Dark Side of the Moon.”
