STUART – Ava Brinkman scored 448.85 points on Friday, Nov. 4, to easily win the Class 3A one-meter diving championship at Sailfish Splashpark Aquatics Athletics Center. The sophomore won the district and region meets, and she capped off her amazing year by winning the gold medal. Also, Maryn McDade earned Fleming Island a second state championship by winning the girl’s 50-yard freestyle. Overall, the Golden Eagles girls swimming team finished 13th overall.
