It is a wonderful thing to have a heavenly Father. He is someone who is taking care of us in all the aspects of our lives.

The New Testament teaches us that the body of Christ is a family. This means if you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, God the Father becomes your own heavenly Father.

There are promises and benefits offered to those who are children of God by faith.

God the Father answers prayer. Jesus talked about this in Luke chapter 11. He said, “What father among you, if his son asks for[ a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent; 12 or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If then (you earthly fathers) know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

God the Father faithfully meets all our needs. He desires us to have good things. “Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” (Luke 12:32) Paul wrote to the church: “Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?” (Rom. 8:32)

God the Father loves His children. “Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them…” (John 14:21)

The motive that caused God to design His great plan of salvation is described clearly. Our salvation was secured in the sacrificial gift of His Son “because of the great love with which he loved us.” (Eph. 2:4)

One of the greatest statements in all the bible is this very simple truth: God is love. (1 John 4:8) And the wonder of it all is: He loves you!
