Can the Jaguars ‘LIGHT’ Things Up?

With the number one pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select, Trevor Lawrence. Being selected as the number one overall pick in the NFL draft is quite an honor. Only 86 people have ever experienced that feeling.

Here is a quote the Jaguars new quarterback Trevor Lawrence: “I don’t think anything is coincidence. God gave me these things for a reason, not just talent on the field, but other opportunities to be a light to people.”

As Christ-Followers, we are the light of the world when we let God’s love shine through our actions. In the book of Matthew, Jesus explains how we are to live as representatives of the Gospel.

Matthew 5:14-16: “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

It’s an incredible blessing when famous athletes and other celebrities use their enhanced platform to speak truth to the world. Trevor Lawrence is one of these people.

Trevor Lawrence said, “I put my identity in what Christ says, who He thinks I am and who I know that He says I am...it really does not matter what people think of me or how good they think I play.”

If the leader of our NFL team is proclaiming the truth of God, why shouldn’t we? We can have the same impact on people’s lives!

Lawrence’s coach at Clemson University, Dabo Sweeney said, “What I love about him more than anything is he’s faith-driven. He has built his life on a foundation of faith.” Trevor Lawrence is showing the world that faith is his priority in life.

The world will see Jesus through you. Commit to living a lifestyle that reflects God’s image inside you. As a follower of Jesus, you are on a mission to illuminate the world with Jesus’ love!

God bless you Trevor in all you do on and off the field and GO JAGS!
