Faith walk: In God's Hands

Every moment of our lives we are in God’s hands. If you will accept this statement by faith and live your life accepting it, you will live a confident life built on trusting God.

I frequently say this to people: “We are all always in God’s hands.” If we know we are in God’s hands, we have the security that comes with believing Romans 8:28. That verse says, “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” (NLT)

We all want to be safe. The very best safety for you is to know by faith that God is holding you securely.

Knowing God is holding you does not tell you what is going to happen in the future. But it does give you the assurance that God will be working His plan for your life. So whatever comes, He is taking care of you and working His plan for you. This is why we can believe that “God causes everything to work together for our good.” If you have received the Lord Jesus as your Savior, you are “called according to His purpose.”

"Footprints” is a poem written in prose. It describes an experience in which a person is walking on a beach with God. As he looks back, there are two sets of footprints in the sand behind him – his and God’s. The tracks represent various stages of his life journey. Sometimes there is only one set of tracks. He remembers those times when he saw one set of footprints as the lowest and most hopeless moments of his life. Questioning the Lord, the person said, “I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me." God gives him the explanation: "During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

When you feel your grip on the hand of God slipping, remember you are not just holding on to Him. he is holding on to you and the grip of His hand is secure.
