GREEN COVE SPRINGS – A man convicted of a federal crime was arrested on Aug. 2 for having a gun and ammo after the Clay County Sheriff’s Office was called to break up a dispute.
According to the arrest report, Robert Clark Nicholson, 33, Green Cove Springs, was charged with possession of ammo and a firearm by a convicted federal felon after a man said Nicholson pointed a gun at him and threatened to shoot him. When the deputy arrived, he saw an empty pistol magazine inside Nicholson’s car. The deputy then recovered a pistol from a backpack in the car.
Nicholson was convicted in Federal Court in 2015 of distributing of synthetic cannabinoids, possession of two firearms and ammo.
His bond was set at $100,006.
