ORANGE PARK – A public hearing regarding proposed improvements to County Road 220 from Henley Road to Knight Boxx Road will be held Monday, June 17, at Highpoint Community Church at 84 Knight Boxx Rd., in Orange Park. Attendees will have the opportunity to view exhibits and discuss the proposed changes with FDOT staff from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. A formal presentation and public comment period will begin at 6:30 p.m.
FDOT is conducting a Project Development and Environment study to evaluate alternatives to enhance safety and provide additional capacity to meet existing and future travel demand on C.R. 220. This subsequent public hearing is being held to present changes made to the C.R. 220/Henley Road intersection that have taken place since the public hearing held in April 2018. These changes relocate the left turn lanes from the C.R. 220/Henley Road intersection to the C.R. 220/Rideout Ferry Road intersection.
Project documents are available for review at the FDOT Jacksonville Urban Office (2198 Edison Avenue, Jacksonville), the Middleburg-Clay Hill Library (2245 Aster Avenue, Middleburg) and the Clay County Library Headquarters (1895 Town Center Boulevard, Fleming Island).
Persons wishing to submit written comments may do so at the public hearing or submit them via mail to David Tyler, P.E. at 1109 South Marion Ave., MS 2007, Lake City, 32025 or via email to David.Tyler@dot.state.fl.us. Comments must be received by June 27, 2019 to become part of the public hearing record.
Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status. Persons who require special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act or persons who require translation services, free of charge, should contact David Tyler at (386) 961-7842 at least seven days before the public meeting.
