ORANGE PARK – Following Badcock corporate office’s bankruptcy filing last July, resulting in the forced liquidation and closure of all Badcock locations, store owners were left with an uncertain future. However, thanks to the leadership of former Badcock dealers, Matt Pridemore and Rob Ball, the vision of Hometown Furniture was born, and a community was created.
One of the 30 locations is the store at 1946 Kingsley Ave.
Although they share the same name, every Hometown Furniture location is independently owned and operated within its own community. Hometown Furniture is committed to filling the void left by the closure of Badcock stores in these local communities.
"I’ve had the privilege of working with Badcock for 21 years, my husband, Chris Hager, and I had proudly owned and operated the Orange Park location since 2013,” said Hometown of Orange Park owner Jamie Bliss. “Growing up in this town and attending high school just down the road from our store, this community is incredibly important to me. We are excited to be able to continue serving our community as small local business owners.
“The transition from Badcock to Hometown Furniture has been one of the most challenging experiences we’ve faced in our careers, particularly when we reflect on the challenges we've already overcome, including the loss of our store in a fire in 2016 and the impact of COVID-19. Despite these setbacks, we are more committed than ever to the future and growth of Hometown Furniture. Our focus is on rebuilding and restoring the level of service and support that was lost with the closure of Badcock locations.”
