ORANGE PARK – St. Johns River State College welcomed JoLynn Carter as its new director of development and foundation operations.

Carter, formerly the marketing manager for the College’s Thrasher-Horne Center on the Orange Park Campus, returns to SJR State with a wealth of foundation experience. Most recently, Carter served as the assistant director of development for Mercy Support Services in Middleburg, where she developed and executed comprehensive fundraising strategies, raising $680,000 during three years through signature events. In addition, Carter secured $180,000 in new grant funding.

“We are excited to have JoLynn return to SJR State and head our Foundation team,” said SJR State President Joe Pickens. “Her experience with relationship building, fundraising, community engagement, communication, and events will help us take our foundation to the next level and serve our students well.”

Carter holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing from Western Washington University. She is also an ACE certified group fitness instructor.

Carter said she is deeply honored and excited to return to SJR State and lead the foundation team.

“Together, we will strive to foster growth and create meaningful opportunities for our students,” she said.
