JACKSONVILLE – Bruce W. Ford was installed to the position of Potentate (Chairman of the Board) of Morocco Shriners’ 132nd year in Jacksonville following annual elections held in December. His term as Potentate will last until December.

Ford was born in Kokomo, Indiana in 1965. He moved with his family to Northeast Georgia in 1979 and in 1983, he graduated from Franklin County High in Carnesville. He then joined the Navy in 1984, enlisting as a Spanish Interpreter and was commissioned a restricted line ensign in Meteorology and Oceanography in 1994 after receiving his bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina.

In 2000, he received his master’s degree in Meteorology and Physical Oceanography from the Naval Postgraduate School. Bruce's Navy assignments throughout his 20-year career took him coast-to-coast, to Puerto Rico, Panama, Japan and points in between. He ultimately completed his Navy career, retiring in Jacksonville aboard the USS John F. Kennedy in 2005.

Following his Navy career, Bruce founded Clear Science, Inc, a small research and development firm based in Keystone Heights. CSI specializes in research and development of solutions relating to the identification, selection, analysis, computation, and display of scientific data, especially in the areas of meteorology and oceanography.

Ford is married the former Jennifer Elkins of Columbia, South Carolina and they live near Keystone Heights.
