ORANGE PARK – True Tracking, a Clay County company whose typically installs video technology in commercial vehicles, shifted gears and are now making face shields. The company’s first donation included 100 face shields to Orange Park Medical Center on April 13. The reusable shields will help the staff and physicians at Orange Park Medical Center keep their eyes, nose and mouth protected from splashes, sprays and splatter of bodily fluids when caring for patients. Each face shield kit is individually wrapped and includes disinfectant wipes.

“The outpouring of support and donations we’ve received from residents and community businesses has been overwhelming,” says Orange Park Medical Center’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Brad Shumaker. “Every donation helps, and we’re honored that True Tracking selected Orange Park Medical Center as one of their drop off sites.”

Nathan Stotts, Operating Partner with True Tracking says their industry has slowed down and they wanted to do something to help those at the front lines. Stotts is part of a nationwide group called PPE Mask Donation Group. The group has built and donated over 50,000 face shields across the United States, with a goal of 300,000.

Orange Park Medical Center says it’s their goal to remain well-stocked through an expected surge of COVID-19 cases. They are also accepting donations for professionally manufactured masks, safety goggles, hand sanitizer and cleaning supplies. Donated items must be in their sealed original packaging.
