ORANGE PARK – According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 37-year-old Orange Park man died Friday during rush hour when he rode his motorcycle into an SUV that was turning into Walmart on Blanding Boulevard.
According to an agency, the rider was traveling north on Blanding while the SUV was going south and turning left into Walmart north of Ridgewood Avenue. FHP said the rider “failed to maintain a safe distance” and struck the side of the SUV at 5:20 p.m. The rider was transported to HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
FHP is investigating the crash.
The highway patrol does not provide the identification of anyone involved in accidents.
