OAKLEAF – When the Oakleaf High softball team heard the county’s Special Olympics competition had been postponed by the coronavirus threat, it stepped up to make sure athletes still had a reason to smile. Led by Asst. Principal Christina Thompson the softball team organized a head-to-head kickball game on March 13. Classes came out to support the special “Olympians” with posters for each individual on the team. The Knights however, didn’t stand a chance and suffered a dramatic loss to the Olympians, who took home the winning trophy as well as the hearts of all who came to show their support.
